ATS Club

Discover the power of magnetism through hands-on experiments with magnetic force.

Get Started

Overview

Our Magnets program invites students into the fascinating world of invisible forces, where they explore how magnetism works and how it powers everyday technology. With hands-on experiments, challenges, and creative builds, kids learn to observe, test, and play with magnetic fields in action.

From magnetic races to levitating paperclips, students discover how attraction and repulsion work—and how magnets connect to the real world in everything from motors to headphones. They get curious, ask questions, and learn through exploration and experimentation.

Along the way, they build foundational STEM skills while having a magnetic time doing it.

What kids learn

  • What magnetism is and how it works
  • The concepts of magnetic poles, attraction, and repulsion
  • Which materials are magnetic and why
  • How magnets interact with each other and with Earth’s magnetic field
  • Real-world uses of magnets in technology, transportation, and medicine

Hands-on projects

  • Testing magnetic and non-magnetic materials with discovery stations
  • Building magnetic mazes, obstacle courses, and scavenger hunts
  • Creating floating or spinning contraptions using magnetic repulsion
  • Making compasses to explore Earth’s magnetic field
  • Designing magnetic toys or games using poles and creative problem-solving
Fantastic class for curious kids. Mine had never worked with magnets before, and they loved it.

Key benefits

  • Builds curiosity through sensory, hands-on exploration
  • Introduces students to core physics concepts in a playful way
  • Strengthens problem-solving and observational skills
  • Connects science to everyday objects and technology
  • Encourages experimentation, creativity, and wonder
